Race Rules

  • Participants of all race distances must be at least 18 years of age on race day. Age is calculated by 2017 minus your birth year.
  • Race briefing is on Friday 3rd February 2017 at Simalin, Khao Yai and is MANDATORY for 100km, 75km, and 50km runners. Sign in sheets need to be filled out. In case of nonattendance, runners will receive a time penalty of 30 minutes.
  • 17.30 - 18:30 h English language briefing
  • 18:30 - 19:00 h Thai language briefing
  • Runners must stay on the marked course. Short cuts are not permitted. If you get lost, please return to the last sighted marking.
  • Outside assistance is only permitted at the checkpoints.
  • nsure timing chip is check at every checkpoint to record your time. To make sure you must run pass all the chip-timing system mats at every check point to have your chips recorded your time. Otherwise you may have problems with the time result and may lead to disqualification.
  • Race bib number must be visible at the front at all times.
  • If choose to withdraw from the race, a withdrawal form must be signed at the nearest checkpoint.
  • If first aid help is needed on the course, call the phone numbers on your Participant-Emergency-Instruction Card to contact the race organizer, who will arrange transportation to retrieve you.
  • Runner’s support crew is not allowed on the course at any time. This can lead to disqualification of the runner.
  • Mandatory gear must be carry at all times during the race. There will be random gear checks throughout the race. Failure to comply can lead to a time penalty or disqualification based on the severity of the breach.
  • There will be a check at the final checkpoint to ensure runners are still carrying sufficient hydration. Runners without the necessary hydration will be disqualified.
  • Runners must obey all directions from the marshals and race organizer.
  • Littering is prohibited.
  • Running with a bib number that does not belong to you or running the distance you have not registered for leads to disqualification.
  • Breaking any of the rules may incur a time penalty or disqualification. Any such penalties are at the organizers' discretion and are final.

Protest Procedure

A runner who wishes to protest against unfair judgment from any referee or protest against other runners, will have to summit a letter of request to the competition committee within 30 minutes after the race is finished, or after withdrawing from the race, and pay a protest fee of THB 1,000. The fee will only be refunded when the request is a success. The race director’s decision is final and cannot be appealed. Any participants’ misconduct during the protest procedure may lead to expulsion from future The North Face Thailand 100 races.

Cut off Times at CheckPoints (CP)

  • 100km Distance
    • All 100km will have medical assessment by a medical team at CP5 (50km) during 12:00 – 13:30 to confirm whether they can or cannot continue onto the second loop.
    • Cut off times for each loop
      • First loop (50km): cut off time at 8.30hrs (or 13:30)
      • Second loop (50km): cut off time at 9.30hrs (or 23:00)
    • Cut off times at each check point
      • CP5 (50km): cut off time at 8.30hrs (or 13:30)
      • CP1 (62km): cut off time at 10.45hrs (or 15:45)
      • CP2 (69km): cut off time at 12.15hrs (or 17:15)
      • CP3 (81km): cut off time at 14.25hrs (or 19:25)
      • CP4 (87km): cut off time at 15.35hrs (or 20:35)
  • 75km Distance
    • Cut off times for each loop
      • First loop (25km): cut off time at 4.30hrs (or 09:45)
      • Second loop (50km): cut off time at 13.30hrs (or 18:45)
    • Cut off times at each check point
      • CP5 (25km): cut off time at 04.30hrs (or 09:45)
      • CP1 (37km): cut off time at 06.40hrs (or 11:55)
      • CP2 (45km): cut off time at 08.05hrs (or 13:20)
      • CP3 (57km): cut off time at 10.15hrs (or 15:30)
      • CP4 (63km): cut off time at 11.20hrs (or 16:35)
Cut off procedure: It is mandatory for 100km and 75km runners to reach each respective checkpoint before the assigned cut-off times. Runners who reach the check points after the cut-off times will not be allowed to continue. There will be a race marshal to do the cut-offs at each check point. Runner who is cut-off has to return the timing chip and bib number immediately and stop running. Runners must obey all directions from the marshals and the race organizer.
